Timothy Gamble left his VP role at Walker & Dunlop to cofound HelloData.ai in 2022. I gathered and normalized real-estate data, but my role quickly expanded, and I was soon in charge of the data infrastructure that processed billions of real-estate data points daily. Related storiesNico left W&D one year before me, but we kept in touch. When I left W&D, we decided it made sense to start a real-estate AI company since we both had an entrepreneurial spirit, strong engineering backgrounds, and real-estate domain expertise. Deciding to leave my VP role was scary but the fear of complacency and the prospect of looking back with regret for not pursuing my passions were far greater motivators.

Scott Guthrie, executive vice president of Microsoft's cloud and artificial intelligence group, speaks at the Microsoft CIO Summit in Redmond, Washington, on Feb. 1, 2023. Microsoft 's hefty investment in artificial intelligence chatbots is finding its way into data analysis. For example, the data can be tapped in Synapse Data Science for collaborating on AI models and Power BI business intelligence software for building charts and dashboards. A single Copilot will be available for the tools in the Microsoft Fabric portfolio, which includes Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, Synapse Data Warehousing, Synapse Real-Time Analytics and a new monitoring tool called Data Activator, in addition to Power BI and Synapse Data Science, a Microsoft spokesperson said. He said that Copilot will be able to write formulas using Microsoft's Data Analysis Expressions language in Power BI.

According to Indeed, new graduates struggle to get hired after college due to high competition, inadequate work experience and little networking. Here are three ways young professionals can stand out, according to Lisa Lewin, CEO of education company General Assembly. According to Lewin, these skills include software engineering, data analytics, data engineering, data science, digital marketing skills and digital product management. And technical skills don't "just apply to IT-based roles," Lewin says. "They include whatever hard skills you've obtained through education and practice, and young professionals should remember to highlight them in their job application materials."
Amazon hired many positions in healthcare informatics last quarter, according to H-1B visa filings. The new positions include nursing-informatics specialists, who typically manage patient data, and medical laboratory technicians. But the end of Amazon Care, which failed to gain as much traction as Amazon had hoped, coincides with an expansion of Amazon's healthcare ambitions. The company announced plans in July to purchase the One Medical chain of medical clinics for $3.9 billion. Data-privacy activists have registered concerns about the company's planned acquisition of One Medical, which would give Amazon control of huge amounts of patient data.
Insider analyzed government data to see just how much the company pays for thousands of roles. That's more than half the number of such workers the company hired in all of 2021, according to a previous analysis by Insider. The company is now conducting what some workers are referring to as "quiet layoffs," too, through new performance evaluations. Another, a product analysis manager for internationalization and product experience, is being paid $1.5 million. Those salaries are outliers, but Facebook is still often the highest-paying Big Tech company, with typical salaries between $150,000 and $250,000.
